to You, Our Patrons!
Yasou
Y'all! St. John's Greek Orthodox Church of Myrtle Beach hosted its 21st Annual
Greek Festival September 27th - 30th, 2012. This 4-day event was held in the
fellowship hall and on the Church grounds on the corner of
Hwy 17 By-pass and
33rd Avenue North, on Thursday from 11 AM to 9 PM, Friday and Saturday from
11 AM to 10 PM, and on Sunday from Noon until 7 PM.
Thousands come each year to enjoy mouth-watering Greek foods such as Gyros, Roasted Lamb,
Greek Salad, Spanikopita and Mousaka – as well as a wide assortment of Greek
pastries and breads. Soft drinks, beer and Greek wines were also available.
There
was a coffee shop, gift shop and vendor booths. We had live
Greek music, Greek dancers, and children's activities, as well as Church tours
and informative lectures about our iconography and the Orthodox faith at
11:30AM, 1PM, 4PM and 6 PM daily.
This year a portion of our
Raffle Sale proceeds benefited CASA and the Waccamaw Youth Foundation as our way of saying "thank you" for
your continued support of our parish fundraising endeavors.
We hope you enjoyed a taste of our cuisine and culture the GREEK WAY! O-PA'!!
