Parish Council President's Message

Dear Parishioners,

It is with great joy that I can announce to you that we have been assigned a new Parish Priest. Father Angelo Pappas and his wife, Presbytera Mary, will join our Parish Family on September 1, 2010. His first Liturgy will take place Sunday September 5th. Please come and meet Father Angelo and Presbytera Mary. The Council is excited about this new beginning, and hopefully long-term stay of Father and Presbytera.

I again would like to inform everyone with school age children that Catechism, Greek school and dance are starting this month. Wednesday night Family night will begin on September 8th at 4:30PM. The schedule maybe found on the Church web site. A registration form was mailed out with the letter from Michael Merisotis, and can also be printed from the web site. Please make a note that Sunday School will begin on Sunday September 12, 2010. Sunday school will begin immediately after Communion and continue during coffee hour. Should you need any further information, please contact the office, myself or Michael Merisotis. Numbers are listed on the cover of this newsletter.

Please keep in mind that the festival is this month. As always, volunteers will be needed throughout the week, as well as during the four days of the festival. The dates this year are September 23-26. Please mark those dates on your calendar. A volunteer sign-up board will be going up in the Narthex soon. As always, let us pray for a successful festival. Baking for the festival will begin soon, as well as prepping other foods prior to the festival. Please check with Mike Arakas, Jimmy Lambrinos, or Presbytera Mary Spirakis for dates and times if you'd like to help.

It is my hope that the rest of the year will be filled with prosperity, fellowship, and participation in stewardship by all. Let us not forget that Stewardship is not only monetary giving to the Church and its ministries, but a giving of your time and talents. We are blessed to be a diverse community with many talents, ages and backgrounds. Let us make the most of all of them.

As always I wish everyone well, much health and love in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Respectfully,

George N. Spirakis,
President
